When Finance minister, Pravind Jugnauth, called a press conference Friday last to announce an Economic Restructuring and Competitiveness Programme (ERCP), he took everybody by surprise. The press, the opposition, the export processing sector, the tourist industry, the SMEs and the opposition were taken by surprise by this Rs 12 billion stimulus package, the third of its type since the recession broke loose, followed by the euro crisis.

Club M indoor sports activities are now CLOSED for the Summer.
It has been an exciting and a very successful year 2009/2010 for us at Club M. We would like to thank all our members and friends for your support and help.
Without you, there will be no Club M!

Help and Support Jean Emmanuel Tsang Pun Yin |
|
As you may already know, Jean Emmanuel Tsang Pun Yin, a 32-year old Mauritian- born Canadian, was involved in a near-fatal accident and is in critical condition.
This tragedy happened after a hit-and-run in Port Perry on January 17th 2010 sending Emmanuel, to hospital with serious injuries. He is still in the Trauma and Neuro-Surgery division in Room 905 of the Intensive Care Unit of St. Michael's Hospital in downtown Toronto. This incident was reported in the Durham Newspaper.
Emmanuel is the son of late Maurice Tsang, English Teacher for many years at the Queen Elizabeth College and John Kennedy College in Mauritius. His mother, Marguerite Tsang Pun Yin, and siblings, Michael and Shirley are in Mauritius. He works for Bank of Nova Scotia in Scarborough. He may have a permanent disability.
A group of his friends and colleagues from Bank of Nova Scotia in Scarborough have initiated a fundraising to help him and have set up a bank account to which you can make some contributions to help him. Your generosity and support is much appreciated.
